HPTU ADMISSION POSTPONED 2020


            HPTU ADMISSION FOR UG PG EXTENDED 2020


HPTU (HIMACHAL PRADESH TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY)  will begin its admission process for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses from June 22. The last date to submit the HPTU admission forms is until July 31. Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, the HPTU Admission 2020 will not be conducted through Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) 2020. Rather candidates interested in taking admission need to submit separate application forms for each subject. Interested candidates can apply for their desired course at /http://himtu.ac.in.

The HPTU admission brochure 2020 released by the University states, “The candidates desirous to seek admission to various courses during 2020-21 are required to apply on the prescribed form online. Only those applicants, who apply online before the last date and satisfy the eligibility criteria, will be considered for admission. A separate application is required to be submitted for each program.”

HPTU BTech Admissions 2020

Candidates interested in taking admission to Btech programmes must note that HPTU will consider JEE Main rank and 10+2 examination scores. Admission to the first 50% of the seats will be done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in JEE Main 2020 and the remaining 50% seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of the 10+2 examination.

HPTU MTech Admissions 2020

Candidates interested in pursuing MTech at HPTU must note that the admission to MTech programmes will be done on the basis of GATE scores and vacant seats, if any, will be filled on the basis of BE/BTech marks. Candidates seeking admission to MTech programme must have at least 50% in BE/BTech.

HPTU Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates before applying for the admission must check the criteria of eligibility to the course by reading the below points.

  • B.Tech (Direct Entry) – Passed/appeared 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects securing at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
  • B.Tech (Lateral Entry) – The candidate must have passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution; with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology.
    Candidates must have passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 standard with Mathematics as a subject.
    Candidate belonging to B.Sc stream shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering Program along with the second year subjects.
  • B. Pharm (Direct Entry) – Passed/appeared 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject securing at least 45% marks (40% reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
  • B.Pharm (Lateral Entry) – The candidate must have passed the Diploma Examination in D. Pharmacy from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
  • B. Arch (Direct Entry) – Candidate with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of Reserved category) shall be admitted to the Architectural course unless he/she has passed an examination at the end of new 10+2 scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics as subject of examination at 10+2 level. Or Candidate who has passed 10+3 diploma with the subject of Mathematics duly recognized by Centre/State Govt. as equivalent to 10+2 level with minimum 50% aggregate marks, (45% in case of Reserved category).
  • B.Pharmacy (Ayurveda) – Passed/appeared 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects securing at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
  • B.Sc HMCT – All those candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in any stream from a Board recognized or established by Central/State Government through legislation shall be eligible to apply. Further, the candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination.
  • BBA & BCA – Candidate passed in 10+2 examination at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category)
  • M. Tech –Recognized Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field obtaining at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.
  • M. Pharmacy – Recognized Bachelor in Pharmacy or equivalent degree obtaining at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.
  • MBA – Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.
  • MCA (Direct Entry) – Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level securing at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.
  • MCA (Lateral Entry) – Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in BCA, B.Sc. (IT/Computer Science) with Mathematics as a course at 10+2 level or at Graduate level securing at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category).
  • M.Sc. Environmental Science – Candidate with B.Sc. degree with Botany, Zoology/Biotechnology and Chemistry or B. Sc. Non-Medical with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with a minimum of 50% marks ( 45% in case of reserved categories) in aggregate in the three years of the degree.
  • M.Sc Applied Physics – Bachelor’s degree in science with at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved categories) in aggregate in the three years of degree or honors degree in Physics.

HPTU Admission 2020 Application Form

HPTU releases its application form in online mode. Candidates who wish to apply for any course need to fill the application form first by checking the eligibility criteria. Applicants can fill the application form from the official website of the HPTU i.e, himtu.ac.in. It’s advised that the candidate submit the application form only after reviewing it as no further modifications can be done in the application form. The application form is considered submitted only after paying the application fee
